AMS Parent Update
Friday, April 2, 2021 From Mrs. Debra Regier, Principal
AMS is open at 7:25 am. Car riders can be dropped off at EITHER entrance. Please use the drop off area that is most convenient for you. Traffic will increase due to all students being in attendance every day, so please be aware of traffic/pedestrians and move all the way forward in the car line. MAP
Only students who are ill for COVID related absences that have been cleared through the nurse will be allowed to Zoom in. Students who are ill, on vacation, etc. will NOT be allowed to Zoom in. Students should use Google Classroom to obtain assignments. All absences will need to be communicated with the office.
Parents must notify the office about any absence from school.
Please be sure your student arrives at school with a mask and student ID lanyard each day. We are seeing more and more students forget their masks. (Students may even want to keep a spare in a baggie in their backpacks for those forgetful moments). Please also remind your student of the importance of wearing their mask over both their nose and mouth at all times. Students need their ID for contactless lunch transactions. The cost of a replacement ID is $5. Use of the scanned ID for lunches also helps our lunch line to move more quickly and avoids crowds in the serving area.
Walkers and bike riders who walk near Cottonwood and Trojan Stadium should use the sidewalks and not cut through the parking lot. Construction is ongoing and the parking lots are hazardous with construction equipment and work taking place. Please talk with your student about being safe in this area!
Please make sure your student’s Chromebook is completely charged overnight. Students are expected to come to school with a fully-charged Chromebook each day. It is also helpful for students to bring their charger with them in case they need to recharge at some time during the school day.
