We are writing to you on behalf of Andover Caring and Sharing’s traditional holiday program. Andover Caring and Sharing is a nonprofit organization that started over twenty years ago. Volunteers from local organizations, churches, and businesses continue the tradition of helping to provide age-appropriate gifts, warm clothing items, books, gifts and gift cards to children, teenagers, and seniors in our community. Families will also receive food boxes that include ingredients for a holiday dinner, including a turkey.
Caring and Sharing begins with you!
We are asking you, to provide us with the names, addresses and phone numbers of those children/that know are in need of assistance. Caring and Sharing volunteers will contact the families to verify their desire to participate and provide them with more information and how we can help their family.
We will once again have a Christmas “shop” and Santa’s workshop on Saturday, December 14, 2019, where parents will be invited to shop for items for their children. Again this year, St. Vincent will be hosting the Saturday event. We will provide childcare in a separate room where the children will be making Christmas gifts for their parents.
We need your help for this to succeed!
We need the names, addressesAgain this and phone numbers for all families no later than Friday, November 30. We encourage you to nominate those families that are in need due to finances, illness, etc.
We also encourage donations of food, gifts, gift cards, money, books, games, hand lotion, toiletries, etc. Volunteers are needed to help with food collection, gift sorting, gift wrapping, shopping, etc. Please let me know of any groups in your school that are able to help. It is also possible for a class or organization to adopt an entire family.
Please contact me if you have any questions or suggestions. We look forward to working with you to serve those in need in the Andover area.
