I graduated from Cimarron High School in 1996. I earned my bachelor’s degree at Bethany College in 2000 and completed my master’s degree in administration through Baker University in 2004. I taught math at Valley Center Middle school from 2000-2007. I coached middle school track and high school basketball as well. I continued my experience at Andover Central Middle School, where I taught math from 2007-2013. I then became the assistant principal and athletic director. In 2016, I decided it was time to return to the classroom so I could spend more time with my family. I continue my passion for teaching math at Andover Middle School.
My wonderful husband, Ryan, works outside sales for parts and service at Rusty Eck Ford. We were blessed with our first child, McCoy, in 2012. After I resigned from administration at ACMS and returned to the classroom at AMS, we discovered we were pregnant with our daughter. Molly was born the spring of 2017. She surprised us, being born with a congenital heart defect. She was life-watched to Children’s Mercy Hospital in KC, where she endured her first heart surgery at 1 week old. I was fortunate to remain home and care for her the rest of that first year. I returned the second year, but was gone mid-November through December as we helped Molly through open heart surgery at 8 months old. I returned in January of 2018 to teach the remainder of the year. Molly will have more open heart surgeries but she is doing very well, and we are incredibly grateful for the support we receive from the Andover staff and community. McCoy is an awesome big brother! He loves school and playing sports with his friends. He will be in 2nd grade at Cottonwood Elementary this year. Molly is in preschool at Jacobs Learning Ladder. We are excited for this school year, being blessed with good health and new opportunies!
