I attended Wichita East High School, graduating in 1985. Following high school I went to MidAmerica Nazarene College (now known as MidAmerica Nazarene University) in Olathe, Kansas graduating in 1991 with a dual BA degree in Christian Education/K-9 Education. I then received my MEd degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Wichita State University in 1997, focusing on middle school science education.

I began teaching 8th grade science in Andover in 1997 to the present; a total of 25 years. Along with teaching 8th grade science I have also been coaching a variety of sports and sponsoring activities since then, too. In my 25 years here in the district I have sponsored Science Olympiad and have coached basketball (boys and girls), track and when we adopted middle school tennis I then became the coach for boys and girls.
Prior to Andover I spent 5 years in Derby, where I began my career in 1992 teachning 6th grade math, science and social studies.
Outside of teaching I coach boy's and girl's tennis. I enjoy spending time relaxing with my family.
